Upcoming Vienna Marked Mini Lops
When I started raising rabbits in 2017, I had so much to learn. I knew a few basic colors, nothing about genetics, couldn't build a pedigree, and had no idea what the Vienna gene was. After 3 years, I learned enough that I felt confident in deciding on a breed and color project. I had purchased a Vienna Carrying Broken Chestnut Mini Lop buck in 2019 and ended up with the cutest little VM Chinchilla, Pete. After falling in love with him, I decided to build a VM Mini Lop program around him -- thus beginning Lawton's Lops!
Since then I have raised dozens of VM Mini Lops and am currently working with other dedicated breeders across the country to create extreme VM Mini Lops without the introduction of other breeds. I am hoping to achieve my first extreme Mini Lop within the next two-to-three years as they do not yet exist.
Coming up, we have several VM Mini Lop litters that I am extremely excited about. This new generation of VM Mini Lops is going to take my program to the next level, I believe. I currently have two VM "collections" going: chocolate/shaded VMs and "clean" VMs to ensure I am able to create clean BEWs for show. To further our program and keep our lines close-to-chest, pedigreed VM bunnies will only go pedigreed to established VM breeders that uphold the same breeding values as I do in regards to protecting the integrity of the color program. All other bunnies will go to pet homes with no pedigrees.
